The fact that Halloween is a day away is comforting because it is what stands between us and Election Day. The thought of ghosts, ghouls and witches raise the hair on one’s back but we know it’s just the time of year when we make believe. Tomorrow it will be back to reality. This year it may be different as the news media prepares to anoint Barack Obama the President of the United States so the nightmare may be revisited a few days later on Election Day. While I am far from ready to throw in the towel on the election it would be a sad day for freedom and liberty if Obama reaches his goal. The ghost of socialism past and future is preparing to occupy the White House dispensing his trickery to get us to believe the change we need is wealth distribution, more/bigger government solutions, open borders and reduced military preparedness. Then you might add to...

Rush Limbaugh on how America became great.
It’s difficult to excerpt Rush, so I’ll just pull a few quotes to get you started. This is excellent stuff, folks, so please read the whole thing. You’ll get an American history lesson, so pass it along to your kids who are probably no longer taught this in their schools.
How is it that in less than 250 years, this group of human beings called Americans has revolutionized everything about life? We've produced the greatest standard of living and shared how to do it with others. We have produced a standard of living unheard of and undreamed of even by people who were alive 100 years ago. We have produced a country where the occupants, the residents have the highest expectations of opportunity, security, wealth, all of these things, education, than any group of human beings has ever had. I really would like...

Minority Leader John Boehner’s Rapid Economic Recovery Plan.
Here’s it is in condensed form. It’s a bit more detailed at the link.
Giving Families Tax Relief: Double the child tax credit from $1,000 to $2,000 per child to put more money back in the pockets of working families.
Keeping American Jobs at Home: Immediately reduce the corporate tax rate to 25 percent to give American employers the incentive to keep good paying jobs in America and reduce prices for American consumers.
Rebuilding 401(k)s and Spurring Investment through a Zero Capital Gains Tax: Immediately and completely suspend capital gains taxes for individuals and employers for the next two years. To encourage investment and boost the value of sagging 401(k) accounts on behalf of workers and retirees.
Providing Tax Relief So American Businesses Create More Jobs:...

The Obama tape and its implications.
Here’s the audio on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c_3pck
Bill Whittle breaks it down.
From the top: “…The Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. And uh, to that extent, as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical.”
If the second highlighted phrase had been there without the first, Obama’s defenders would have bent over backwards trying to spin the meaning of “political and economic justice.” We all know what political and economic justice means, because Barack Obama has already made it crystal clear a second earlier: It means redistribution of wealth....

Mark Levin on the Obama temptation.
“I honestly never thought we'd see such a thing in our country - not yet anyway - but I sense what's occurring in this election is a recklessness and abandonment of rationality that has preceded the voluntary surrender of liberty and security in other places. I can't help but observe that even some conservatives are caught in the moment as their attempts at explaining their support for Barack Obama are unpersuasive and even illogical. Snip –
But beyond the elites and the media, my greatest concern is whether this election will show a majority of the voters susceptible to the appeal of a charismatic demagogue. This may seem a harsh term to some, and no doubt will to Obama supporters, but it is a perfectly appropriate characterization. Obama's entire campaign is built on class warfare and human envy. The "change"...

There is a universal LAW that governs human interaction. It is as certain as the laws of physics and just as deadly if it is violated. There are many such laws that involve society but probably the most basic of these is: When you reward bad behavior and penalize good behavior, you get bad behavior.
The corollary is just as true: When you reward good behavior and penalize bad behavior, you get good behavior. You can substitute other words for "good behavior and bad behavior", whether it is "production", "performance", "statistics" or "attendence" the concept and result is the same.
When you violate a law of physics, the judgement is swift, final and many times deadly. The universe will maim or disfigure at a minimum if violated.
In sociological terms and time frames violating the above law is just as deadly. It is more painful and far reaching but unfortunately since it...

I want to know how any adult American with a conscience, particularly any adult with a child or grandchild, is willing to sell the future prosperity of our country down the drain so we can live a little better life today. The debt burden we are currently placing on future generations is without conscience and laced with greed that would make our forefathers howl in horror. They fought and gave us a birthright of freedom, liberty and the opportunity to pursue untold happiness and we are selling it down the drain because we weren’t satisfied with opportunity, we wanted a guarantee of happiness. We have allowed self serving leaders in business and politics tell us we could have it all if we just placed our trust in them. We allowed them to come up with unique ways to place us in ever increasing debt at home and in government, paying for things we think we deserve because we’re us, not because...

What is Biden hinting at?
Bill Whittle over at National Review Online notes this:
“Ed Morrissey over at Hotair.com is wondering if this may all be preamble to something Barack Obama outlines in no uncertain terms in a video you can watch with your own eyes right here.
”…here’s the print version: He is sitting in what appears to be his senate office, and says, quite clearly, that:
‘I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. [snip] I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons. I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material. And I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBM’s off hair-trigger alert.’
“Wow. Is...

Poor Obama – has a sudden drop in fundraising.
Awww. This blogger wonders if it might have something to do with all the credit card fraud coming to light. We can only “hope” for “change” in The One’s campaign money.

It truly is a troubling time to be an American, with all the uncertainty in Wall Street and the Islamic fascist threat. But, in my opinion, the most terrifying thing is the speed at which these fears have crippled our nation. We've gone from a country of people who love freedom and the opportunity to succeed to one that is obsessed with security both domestically and internationally, and no one is willing to rock the boat to do what should be done anymore. I just don't understand why we have allowed government the powers it has now. Why do we allow these inept, power hungry, sycophantic scum bags to reign over us without any measure of success? Government is not the answer, its cancer, cancer that does nothing but grow and strangle the life out of its host. Yet for some reason people are willing to give up their rights for the security that government offers with no...
